Yes I know, I’m a bit late to the party but I gave myself some extra time off over Christmas and New Year as my body (or Elle Macfearsome as I like to call her) needed some extra TLC.
What a month is has been. First Mrs Wifey and I had our first experience of being cut off from the world due to floods then just as we were settling back into normality, the sky decided to snowbomb us. Before you ask, yes it was fricking stunning! We built a snowman and went for a snowy walk in the forest. It looked so much like Narnia I kept expecting Mr Tumnus to creep out from behind a tree, although at one point Mrs Wifey did spot a big ginger fox.
Plans for 2016
Now that Rural Teacake is up and running I’ve been thinking about what I want to do with my blog in 2016. After much deliberation, a couple of chai lattes and a nanna nap I’ve decided to take RT in three different directions. You see, I have three things I’m passionate about:
1) Sharing my love of Kielder and Northumberland
2) Raising awareness of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, POTS and gastroparesis (my chronic illness)
3) My inner geek – that’s right, I get my jollies watching X-files and annoying Tom Nook.
So my plan is this…As soon as I have some extra pennies I’ll be setting up two new blogs to coincide with this one, all under the rural umberella. Confused? Don’t worry, it will all make sense soon enough, just watch this space.
I also want to get a newsletter going asap so jump on board and sign up using the box on the right. You’ll be treated to a fancy little newsletter once a month with links to the best posts from RT that month and a glimpse into whats coming up. There’ll also be some freebies and links to other sparkly things from t’internet. I promise I won’t spam you. I hate nothing more than signing up for a blog newsletter only to bombarded with “I can help you earn a billion pounds in 20 days” type emails.
In the meantime, see how beautiful Kielder is covered in snow.
